Trevor Allen

Known as “The Potter from Puckeridge”, Trevor returned to pottery, his first love, after a career window dressing high end stores. His new creative enterprise flourished quickly, with classes at The Old George Studio in high demand. Generous and patient, warm-hearted Trevor loved teaching the art of potting and recognised the value of taking time for yourself to relax and be creative with others.

He took inspiration from nature and his verdant surroundings. Evident in his works are the fish in his ponds, country side scenes and swifts that nested in his roof.

Using red or white earthenware clay, Trevor’s works are decorated with simple but effective techniques in coloured slips and a simple pallet of glazes. His work honours the honesty of medieval ceramics and bright contemporary surface patterns.

Sadly, Trevor passed away on Christmas Eve 2023, however his infectious passion for pottery remains. The remainder of his pieces are limited.
